Christmas presents ideas - from cheap to expensive
I’m going to get into trouble for writing this article if my better half finds out, but never the less, it has to be done. My girlfriend runs a website called Saving Stuff and has some articles like this anyway (some written by me as it happens). It’s my turn now though!
I'm rich... help me spend!
Okay, so money isn’t an option and you want to buy your spouse or partner a really exciting and fantastic Christmas present? Here are a few options for those with a larger Christmas present budget.
Microlight flight - Speaking from experience there’s nothing quite like pottering around the skies in a microlight and it’s one of the most affordable forms of aviation there are and something they will never forget.
With a present like this you not only get to see their face light up on Christmas day, but you also get to see it again as they taxi back having experienced the thrill of flying in one of these wonderful machines.
A luxury Tai Chi Weekend - No previous experience experience is required and what better way is there to unwind and escape the pressures of modern day living.
An Android tablet computer - Forget buying an iPad, go one better by purchasing you’re loved one a state of the art Android tablet such as the Samsung Galaxy Tab. For those who don’t know, Android is the mobile operating system that is currently taking the world by storm and quite a few manufacturers are now producing tablet computers built around the OS.
Cheap Christmas present ideas
Christmas doesn't have to be expensive. Some of us are feeling the squeeze right now and it’s probably a good idea to think about doing some Christmas shopping before the mad rush to the high street begins. Personally I can’t stand trailing round the shops at the best of times but at this time of year (or rather in a months time) it can be a complete nightmare. So how can you save a bit of money and still buy presents? Here’s a few ideas to be going on.
Wine - This is probably the perfect festive gift and it can be an expensive option. How about making some wine instead? I’ve done this in the past myself. I made several gallons of Elderberry wine (late autumn) and the wine is ready by Christmas. Not ready to drink I hasten to add, but ready to be bottled and wrapped up as a present.
A Christmas Cake / Yule Log - I haven’t actually done this yet and again, it takes a bit of planning ahead to do this properly. I guess I’ve missed the boat again this year but what an excellent gift a home made Christmas Cake or Yule log would make.
A personalised calendar - My other half has a calendar made every year for her mum and dad. She picks a photo of her daughter, one for each month of the year more often than not in an appropriate setting eg. the beach in August or holding a pumpkin lantern in October. The grandparents just love that sort of thing. There are many places online where you can have this done. Just submit you’re photos and place an order. Make sure you do it in plenty of time because they’re quite popular and there may be a delay in getting you’re calendar printed.
