Just Go with It, another funny Adam Sandler film
If you're looking for a light hearted romantic comedy with plenty of laughs I can recommend this movie, particularly if you enjoy films that have Adam Sandler in them. Think of Grown Ups, 50 First Dates and Mr Deeds and you can pretty much get the idea. The later is one of my favourites not least because it has Winona Ryder in it though! (warning - may contain spoilers).
Just Go with It sticks to the same old formulae of hearty comedy with a fairly predictable but nevertheless enjoyable story with a romantic twist. Danny (played by Sandler) is a wealthy plastic surgeon and has for many years used the 'wedding ring' scam to pick up girls by laying on a sob story of an unhappy marriage. It was a thing that he discovered by accident when as a younger man he learned that his first wife was actually cheating on him. Drowning his sorrows in a bar he discovered the true power of his 'precious'.
With the help of the ring Danny has many a conquest, but when he meets a real keeper he requires the help of his assistant (played by Jennifer Aniston) and her kids to convince the girl that his marriage is really over and that he's a good guy.
One lie leads to another and before we know it we have a double date in Hawaii with the kids and a bucket full of laughs. As I said earlier, it's quite a predictable story and a happy ending with a lot entertainment along the way. That's not a bad thing though in my opinion, because every now and then you need a chill out movie.
There are a few familiar faces such as Nicole Kidman (although I admit that my partner had to point her out to me) and Nick Swardson whom I recognised from Grandmas Boy, another incredibly funny movie. Just Go with It won't keep you up all night trying to solve a puzzle but it will entertain and provide plenty of laughs.
